Taxea: A Modern Sea Taxi for Istanbul Bosphorus

Taxea, designed by Hakan Gürsu and the Designnobis team, is a sleek and innovative sea taxi specifically developed for Istanbul's Bosphorus. This double deck catamaran offers a luxurious and spacious environment, capable of accommodating up to 65 passengers.

One of the key features of Taxea is its use of high-performance materials, including aluminum and composites. This not only ensures durability and efficiency in travel but also adds a touch of elegance to the overall design. The catamaran seamlessly blends into the modern cityscape, making short distance travel a delightful experience.

The interior of Taxea is designed with utmost comfort in mind. The seats are arranged in a double reverse layout, maximizing space and providing a relaxing journey for passengers. The upper deck, accessible through stairs, ensures safety while offering panoramic views of the Bosphorus. The large glass panels for windows and skylight flood the interiors with natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere.

With a length of 18 meters, Taxea is powered by twin 1600 hp engines, providing the necessary speed and performance for efficient sea transportation. The lower deck, spanning 62 square meters, features a kitchenette and toilet facilities, while the upper deck offers 45 square meters of interior space, along with an additional 9 square meters of outdoor space.

The development of Taxea involved extensive research into the social aspects of sea travel in Istanbul, particularly for short and mid-distance journeys. The challenge was to create a vehicle that seamlessly combines everyday functionality with luxury and comfort, and Taxea successfully achieves this balance.

Designed and realized in Ankara, Taxea has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Yacht and Marine Vessels Design category in 2016. This prestigious accolade is a testament to the outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill demonstrated by the design team.
